The Background

Bloomreach is a cloud-based e-commerce experience platform and B2B service specializing in marketing automation, product discovery, and content management systems.

The company, founded in 2009 is headquartered in Mountain View, California. In 2022, Bloomreach was named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America and the Best In Business honoree.

  • Serving 1,400+ global brands
  • Powering 250 million searches each day
  • Powering the equivalent of 25% of all ecommerce experiences in the US and UK

The Challenge

Bloomreach’s marketing team working with their complex 1200+ page website was bottlenecked by its dependence on the in-house engineering team and legacy Java based CMS. Every minor change required developer involvement, slowing down the content upload pipeline. This limited the marketing potential and pace in which new products are presented.

In need of a more agile approach, Bloomreach sought a partner who could migrate to a new, more flexible low-code CMS while improving UX/UI of the website and make it possible for non-technical marketing people to manage content and speed up the processes.

This is where Webgate stepped in, offering a solution that addressed both low-code needs and UX/UI expertise.

The Solution

With an experienced team of Web Design & Development experts, Webgate was able to provide x things that Bloomreach lacked.

UX/UI Website improvements — where we have discovered/addressed the most important areas for improvements – i.e., “Get a Demo” form, simplification of the main navigation, captivating dynamics/animation of the key modules and more.

Website Design for the key pages (40+ unique pages/template) — we have prepared design concept based on outputs from audit and from wireframing CX workshops. We have refreshed the design system – colors, typography, tab modules, forms, navigation and prepared customer centric pages with smooth animations.

WordPress CMS + Elementor Development — Our experienced team built a responsive, multi-language website with simplified product search and optimized performance, identified and prepared migration scripts to move 900+ articles from the old system, build 40+ page templates, prepared 50+ website components for marketing team to be used when publishing new pages.

On-page SEO optimization and performance optimization

  1. Performance Enhancements: Implemented lazy loading for images and assets, automatic conversion of images to WebP format, and employed advanced caching techniques to reduce server load and accelerate page delivery.
  2. Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed Improvements: Optimised key metrics such as Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS). Addressed PageSpeed Insights recommendations by optimising CSS and JavaScript delivery, and improving server response times. This involved individual analysis and tailored solutions for specific challenges.

The Solution

  • Make it easy for non-technical people to manage website content
  • Save costs and precious time on development
  • Applied design CX and UX improvements in web design to increase on-site engagement and conversion rates
  • Improve website stability, load time and performance
  • Creation of a scalable solution with minimal dependency on outsourced vendors
