Visitors can revisit cookie consent in the WebToffee GDPR Cookie Consent plugin without using the standard floating button on your website.
You can use your own Cookie settings button or link instead — whether it’s a regular WordPress menu item or an element built in Elementor.
Revisit Cookie Consent with One CSS Class
Add the following class to the element you want visitors to click:
wcc-preference-btn
The plugin handles the click and reopens the consent interface. No custom JavaScript is needed.
Important: The CSS selector is .wcc-preference-btn, but in a CSS Classes field, enter wcc-preference-btn without the dot.
Option 1: A WordPress Menu Item
- Go to Appearance → Menus and select your menu.
- Add a Custom Link with
#as the URL and Cookie settings as the link text. - Open Screen Options at the top and enable CSS Classes.
- Expand the menu item, enter
wcc-preference-btnin CSS Classes (optional), and save the menu.
Option 2: An Elementor Element
Select your button or another element in Elementor, then go to:
Advanced → CSS Classes
Enter wcc-preference-btn and save your changes. For a Button widget, use # in the Link field so it doesn’t navigate to another page.
Replace the Floating Button
Once your custom trigger works, disable the floating Revisit consent button in the plugin’s cookie banner settings:
wp-admin -> Cookie Consent -> Content & Colors -> Revisit consent icon
Test on the live page after accepting or rejecting cookies, and confirm that your link lets you reopen and change your preferences.
💡 Tip: Put the link in a site-wide footer menu so visitors can always find it. Prefer a real button or link that can also be reached and activated with a keyboard.
